The first House of Blues opened its doors on November 26, 1992 in the Harvard Square commercial district and retail area of Cambridge, Massachusetts. However, the hands-in-concrete driveway where members of the Blues Brothers and others left their mark, still remains.
Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi remain closely associated with the brand and are present for most openings, most recently attending and performing at the Grand Opening Celebrations of both the Houston and the Boston Houses of Blues.House of Blues currently operates 12 live music concert halls and restaurants in major markets throughout the United States. Founded in a historic Harvard Square house in 1992 by Isaac Tigrett, co-founder of Hard Rock Cafe, and Dan Aykroyd, House of Blues has grown into a premier live music club venue for touring bands.
